FROM GRACE’S MOM…
Today it really hit me how amazing it is that I will get to see my little girl dance her first solo on Friday! To be a part of Dance 4 Joy ministries has blessed our lives and glorified the Lord’s miracle in watching her grow and flourish.
When the doctors told us she had a 10% chance of living, much less have any kind of ‘normal’ life, and then before we left the hospital they told us that she had a grade 4 bleed on her brain and may never walk, talk or play and when she was 18 months old she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy… all the while God had other plans for her. When I first heard Tyrone Wells song “Grace is Dancing” I heard her story come to life and thought to myself that one day it would be so beautiful to watch her dance to this song. Well God heard my silent prayer… Thank you to Ruth Okey for the choreography and Christy Hernandez for the ministry that has made this possible, and to Tyrone Wells for writing such a beautiful song. Even though it was written for another little Grace, it brings tears to my eyes every time as if it was written for my little girl. Just so you all can appreciate this amazing singer-songwriter, I’m including the lyrics for you…enjoy! |
She was born on New Years day
over three months early, but it couldn’t wait
Against all odds she took her first breath
Every movement might be all she has left
They dare to hope as they named her Grace
And prayed that they could take her out of this place
The doctor said that Grace might never walk, talk or play
Still her mom and dad dreamed that one day they could say
Grace is dancing
All around, all around the room
Two years old, just 21 pounds
Now her brother and her sister chase her around
Move the furniture, get out of the way
Gather round and let the music play
Cause, Grace is dancing
All around, all around the room
And every step is a miracle move
And with every breath, Grace keeps on proving
that nothing is impossible
If you will just believe
Listen to the music, look around and you will see
Grace is dancing
(Grace is dancing)
over three months early, but it couldn’t wait
Against all odds she took her first breath
Every movement might be all she has left
They dare to hope as they named her Grace
And prayed that they could take her out of this place
The doctor said that Grace might never walk, talk or play
Still her mom and dad dreamed that one day they could say
Grace is dancing
All around, all around the room
Two years old, just 21 pounds
Now her brother and her sister chase her around
Move the furniture, get out of the way
Gather round and let the music play
Cause, Grace is dancing
All around, all around the room
And every step is a miracle move
And with every breath, Grace keeps on proving
that nothing is impossible
If you will just believe
Listen to the music, look around and you will see
Grace is dancing
