Liturgical Dance for Children

Location: At Christ Cathedral Academy
Course Description: This class will enliven the Catholic faith life of every student by learning the art of dance filled with His Joy. Students will experience the basics of ballet and creative/contemporary/liturgical movement as they learn scripture, pray, and dance to Catholic Christian music. Christmas Performance: Dancers will learn a Christmas Dance and perform LIVE or in FILM (depending on availability) at CCA Christmas Concert. They will also be given opportunities to dance in the community for the elderly or other holiday shows.
Teacher: Christy Hernandez is the Founder and Executive Director of Dance 4 Joy Ministries, a non-profit ecumenical dance ministry/studio in Orange County training up the next generation to proclaim the Gospel in dance. With over 35yrs of teaching experience, and former director of Liturgical Dance at Sts. Simon and Jude parish in Huntington Beach, Christy's soul desire is to bring Glory and Honor to Our Lord Jesus Christ using the beauty of the art of dance.
